Edited later to add: Turns out Valor has sadly opted to use Aspartame/Nutrasweet in all of its sugar free bars. There are some gourmet almond bars remaining without it, but they will soon be gone.

I am tossing two Valor Sugar Free chocolate bars intact and fully wrapped into the trash today because they are tainted with aspartame.

What a shame.

---------------

Oh no!

I ordered several sugar free Valor bars online thinking they were sweetened with maltitol--and they are--but they also contain, yikes

ASPARTAME!

This sweetener is, for me, utterly off limits. Nunca nunca nunca. It gives me headaches and makes me feel generally unwell. It makes yogurt taste great, but that pleasure isn't close to worth it. For me, aspartame is a toxin and I avoid it completely.

Sad. I love Valor and had looked forward to these bars, but no. Heck no.

These bars are destined for the garbage pail. Which ones are they? The 70% sugar free dark and the 70% sugar free dark with nibs.

Note: THE GOURMET SUGAR FREE ALMOND BAR BY VALOR IS NOT TAINTED WITH ASPARTAME. IT IS SAFE.

I'm hoping these are just older bars from an outdated recipe. If Valor has tainted its lovely chocolate with this intolerable toxin, I shall be sad indeed.
